|

|
There are many reasons for hiring mobility equipment, including holidays, special occasions, short term illness or injury, guest visiting or to try before you buy.
What ever the reason, CCF Mobility Ltd has a range of walking frames, wheelchairs including children's wheelchairs, scooters and power chairs, for hire at competitive rates.
All our equipment is cleaned and checked after each hire, and regularly serviced, so it is kept in top condition for our customers. Full instructions and demonstrations are given before each hire.

Holidays
Going on holiday in the UK or abroad, you can hire a wheelchair or a travel scooter, to take with you. This can give you the freedom of exploring and going for long walks, without the hassle of local hire and the time restraints of retuning back to the hire company.
Air, coach and train companies usually accept wheelchairs and scooters (advisable to check with your travel company before you travel), or use your car to transport a wheelchair or travel scooter on holiday, or for days out.

Special Occasions
Attending a special occasion like a wedding or christening, and you are unsure if you can walk or stand for long, why not hire a wheelchair from us? All our hire equipment is kept in good condition without large advertising notices adorned over them, so the wheelchair will not be conspicuous amongst other guests.

Wheelchairs
|

|
There are two types of wheelchair, attendant and self propelled, both supplied with foot rests, brakes and fold up for transporting. The standard size chair we hire has a seat width of 457mm (18"), with a maximum user weight of 115kg 18 stone.
Attendant
This type of chair requires a second person (Attendant) to push and control the wheelchair while the user just sits back and enjoys the ride. The brake levers are mounted on the handles and are operated by the attendant.
Self Propelled
These have large wheels at the back so that the user can control and propel the wheelchair; the brake levers are mounted next to the wheels so the user can operate them. There are handles at the rear of the chair for a person to push if required, but there are no brake levers on the handles.
We also have two child size wheelchairs:
- 16" width seat, with a maximum user weight of 89kg 14 stone.
- 14" width seat, with a maximum user weight of 76kg 12 stone.

Scooters
|

|
We hire out two types of scooters, travel scooters and medium size scooters, both are fully equipped with the battery charger and basket. The battery can be charged over night, using the intelligent charger supplied, which switches itself off once fully charged.
Travel Scooter
This is ideal for days out or holidays, as it simply comes apart into small manageable parts that can be stowed in a boot of a car; this scooter is sometimes referred to as a "Boot Scoot" for this reason. Or it can remain assembled with the tiller folded down ready to go on a coach or aircraft.
From being dismantled it only takes a short time to reassemble and you are on your way. The battery is certificated for traveling on aircraft as it is a sealed unit, charging of which can be on board the scooter or off board in your room.
These scooters are versatile and can be used both indoors and out doors on flat surfaces. The range with a fully charged battery is approx. 8 miles, depending on the weight of the person, the terrain and the journey gradient.
Max user weight 18 stone 115kg, 4 miles per hour
Medium Size Scooter
This type of scooter is mainly used for trips to the local shops, or for long walks local to home. It is ideal if a guest is coming to stay who normally uses a scooter of this size.
It is more luxurious than a travel scooter, it may fit into a car boot or taken on a train (phone your rail company first).
The range with a fully charged battery is approx. 10 miles, depending on the weight of the person, the terrain and the journey gradient.
Max user weight 21 stone 133kg, 4 miles per hour

Power Chairs
|

|
Power chairs are for the less mobile user, who requires constant assistance to move around indoors and out.
The power chair is controlled by the user or by an attendant; (please state which is required). It is very maneuverable and is able to turn around within its own length.
It is intended to be used indoors, but may be used out doors on a flat reasonably level surface.
The range with a fully charged battery is appro. 10 miles, depending on the weight of the person, the terrain and the journey gradient.
Max user weight 18 stone 115kg, 4 miles per hour
